Rugs · Handmade

The room begins where the floor finds its rhythm.

Handmade rugs bring proportion, warmth and softness into the architecture—grounding everything placed above them.

Eyes and hands

Two halves of the same rug.

01

The eyes are Italian

Selection is where an Italian eye earns its keep: proportion, restraint and a tolerance for color that most catalogues do not have. What comes into the collection has to hold the room visually before anything else about it matters, which is why the library reads as edited rather than assembled.

02

The hands are Indian, Turkish and Egyptian

The making happens where the craft has been passed down for centuries. Weavers in India, Türkiye and Egypt build these rugs by hand, and their standard of finish is the reason a piece survives being lived on. Every thread carries the mark of someone who has done this for a very long time.

01

Start with the room, not the pattern.

Bring dimensions, photographs and a sense of how the space is used. The right rug follows from those details.

Bring the dimensions.

Photographs, measurements and a sense of how the space is used. The right rug follows from those three things.
